Shipping Policy 2023
Once your cake leaves our bakery, carrier delays due to weather, package volume, transit, and personnel issues may delay on-time delivery by FedEx.
By ordering a shipped King Cake, you acknowledge that Brennan’s is not responsible for delivery delays.
Shipping is designed to ensure that your King Cake arrives at its destination and in the best possible condition. Each King Cake ships separately to preserve the integrity of the cake. *Note – King Cakes are fragile, baked goods and may shift around in shipping.
The purchase price of your King Cake includes the cost of FedEx Standard Overnight Shipping where service is available in the continental US. (At this time, we are unable to ship to Hawaii, Alaska or U.S. territories.)
King Cakes are shipped exclusively on Tuesdays.
You will receive an email with the tracking information as soon as the shipping label is created.
Please Note: Once a cake leaves our bakery, we are unable to make any changes to the shipment.
- FedEx does not deliver to PO or APO boxes nor to military bases.
- FedEx will leave packages at the door.
- FedEx Signature Required delivery service is not available.
- FedEx will provide “Photo Upon Delivery” as a new 2023 service.
If shipping to an apartment, condominium, dormitory, hotel, Hospital, or a similar complex, packages are often directed to a complex office or receiving department which could result in a delivery delay.
We recommend you let the recipient know they are to receive a package, so they can be proactive in procuring it. (No refunds are given due to delay).
Inclement Weather: In the event of an anticipated severe weather event, Brennan’s reserves the right to delay the shipment of your king cake, and contact you with an updated shipping date.
Undelivered and Damaged Cakes:
Brennan’s does everything possible to ensure your package ships as scheduled, and FedEx works to ensure your package is delivered. Occasionally, peak volume service dates, Acts of God, COVID-19 considerations, inclement weather, inaccurate or incomplete shipping address information (i.e. wrong or missing apartment or suite number, wrong zip code, etc.), mechanical errors, and / or transit route delays, and other uncontrollable instances may result in a shipping delays.
King Cakes by Brennan’s stay fresh for 5 days after they leave our facility. If your cake is not received within 5 days of shipment, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
IMPORTANT: Cakes which are deemed undeliverable by Fedex due to the following reasons will not be remade by Brennan's, nor will shipping be reimbursed by FedEx. Customers will need to purchase a new cake:
- Inaccurate or incomplete shipping address (i.e. wrong or missing apartment or suite number, wrong zip code, etc.)
- Recipient no longer lives at the address provided and/or has moved.
- Vacation Holds placed at recipient address.
King Cakes by Brennan's will not be responsible for rerouting packages after they leave our facility.
King Cakes by Brennan’s will file a FedEx claim on your behalf for the following reasons:
- Your King Cake has not been received within 5 days of the shipped date.
- Your King Cake has visible damage, which makes it unable to be consumed.
- Your King Cake is missing from the box.
King Cakes by Brennan’s will begin the claims process after receiving the following Supporting Documents (must include both) emailed to email@example.com:
- Digital Photos of damaged box and damaged contents (if applicable)
FedEx claims must be filed no later than 60 calendar days from the shipment date for U.S. Packages. Claims for undelivered or lost shipments must be filed within 9 months of the shipment date.

If your claim meets the above criteria, King Cakes by Brennan's will replace your lost or damaged king cake and ship it out on the next available shipping date.
